Tioman
offers some incredible diving..... With its warm waters and
varied marine life, it is a place that people return to time
and again.
Harmless black
tip reef sharks, hawksbill and/or green turtles on almost
every dive, blue spotted stingrays, schools of barracuda
(giant and yellowtailed), schools of friendly batfish,
impressive reef cuttlefish, the endangered napoleon wrasses,
gigantic moray eels, massive groupers, bumphead parrotfish,
shoals of trevally and jacks, fusiliers, snappers,
multicoloured angelfish, butterflyfish, wrasses and parrotfish
everywhere are just some of reasons for Tioman’s
popularity.
Divers, if you are bringing your own Regulator with a DIN fitting,
please bring along a DIN to yoke adapter as all our tanks are yoke valved which is mainly used in this region.

thick with fish most of the time.
Harmless black tip reef sharks often
come to feed.
There are also schools of golden
trevally, great, chevron and yellowtail barracuda, tuna and giant
groupers.
Friendly batfish trail
divers.
Also a favourite site to swim along
with turtles, green and hawksbill.
PIRATE
REEF

Similarly a fish breeding ground,
Pirate Reef teems with fish of all colours, shapes and
sizes.
There is a resident turtle normally
found sleeping in his cave on night dives and curious bamboo
sharks will approach divers.
Cuttlefish and octopus can be seen
here too.
There are also blue spotted stingrays
hiding under outcrops. There is also a wreck lying in 21 metres where lives a large black stingray with silver markings on its back, one and a half metres in diameter.
MARINE PARK
HQ
Depth: 5-28 m
Confiscated fishing boats belonging
to Thai/Vietnamese fishermen illegally fishing in Malaysian waters have been purposely
sunk here to create refuge to spawning and schooling fish.
At the time of writing, there are
about 15 wrecks waiting to be dived here.
Excellent for night dives, with
lionfish and scorpion fish awaiting the avid underwater
photographer.
SAWADEE
WRECK

Two huge wooden Thai fishing boats
lay at the bottom of Tekek Bay and is a hot favourite amongst our regular divers.
We normally take our Advanced
Students on the Deep Dive to this excellent site that attracts an immense wealth of marine life.
We have seen manta rays, shovelnose rays, frogfish and seahorses and a whaleshark was seen here last July.
There are sometimes harmless nurse
sharks sleeping on deck and splendid lionfish and huge stonefish hiding on deck. Moray eels peer at you from
cracks.
PULAU
SOYAK
Depth : 5m – 28m
Two sunken boat wrecks lie near the
island with a huge resident grouper normally in one of
them. Both wrecks are covered in soft coral, funnily enough, one wreck is covered with purple soft coral (dendronepthya) and the other, in yellow!
The island itself is surrounded by
rocks and coral formations.
Soyak is a very colourful dive with
turtles, bump head parrotfish and giant barracuda congregating
here.
There are also resident napoleon
wrasses; the largest being close to one and a half metres from
head to tail, sometimes very curious and coming close to eyeball the diver.
Amazing stuff!
PULAU
TUMUK
Depth : 5m – 14m
An islet similar to Renggis, Tumuk
offers interested underwater landscape with interesting boulder and coral
formations and a good dive for shells (conchshells and cowries).
There is the occasional reef shark
here. For macro lens enthusiasts and those with keen eyes, it is
nudibranch country here.
Sweetlips, emperors, huge map puffers, giant moray eels,
napoleon wrasse, lionfish and bumphead parrotfish are regularly encountered.
PULAU
CHEBEH
Depth : 16-42 m
Magnificent underwater landscaping
with a mass of volcanic rocks rising abruptly from the
seabed.
Excellent soft coral varieties
especially gorgonian fans make this dive alive with
colour.
Lobsters, sting ray and huge groupers
can be found hiding in small caves and under rocky
outcrops.
If you are lucky, one of our only sites to see grey reef sharks. A resident marble ray accompanied by a school of cobia can sometimes be seen on the deep end on the sandy bottom.
This is nudibranch territory as
well and we often spot ones not found in our many guide books.

Sepoi is a barren rocky island lying
on the extremities of an underwater plateau teeming with marine
life.

here.
PULAU
LABAS
Depth: 6 – 16 m
Small rocky island on the same
underwater plateau as Sepoi, Labas is famous for its caves and
swimthroughs.
A colourful dive, watch out for the cobia (sharklike fish)that usually pilot something larger. The occasional shark have been sighted
here.
Sometimes, whale sharks frequent the
waters off Labas in season..
GENTING
BAY
Depth : 5 – 28 m
Also called Sea Fan Garden, the bay
contains clusters of volcanic boulders with soft coral
aplenty.
Mantas rays visit this site on a
yearly basis. Huge morays can be found in recesses waiting to
feed and there are huge scorpionfish lying in wait to lunge at prey.
Napoleon wrasses, blue-spotted
stingrays, the barramundi cod and hawksbill turtles await you on
this dive. Also a great site for nudibranch.
MALANG

Scattered coral heads surround a
cluster of huge rocks which protrude from the water.
Hard corals abound at this site which is
famous for its schools of jack, trevally and
barracuda.
You can find amazing cuttlefish
pulsating and changing colours like a UFO and also black tips at Malang Rocks.
TIGER
REEF
Depth: 11-24 m
Underwater pinnacles popular with
many divers, there is a variety of soft coral and marine life. Normally, a more challenging dive due to the strong current sweeping through a channel between two islands, Labas and Sepoi. Large schools of yellow tail snappers, glinting
trevallies, barracuda and jacks abound here. There are many massive Neptune sponges and also, gorgonian sea fans.
Also a domain of many white eyed
moray eels and the most beautiful Indian lionfish with lacy beards..
MAGICIENNE
ROCK

An underwater coral plateau rising to 14 m below
